Keep up to date with social media
Never take for granted the impact social media can have on a business. The days when Facebook was just a passing phase that kids used to keep in contact with one another are long behind us. Nowadays, there are over 3 billion internet users and over 2 billion of them have active social media accounts. Whether that’s Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest or YouTube, these are all tools that can enable you to stay up to date with current trends and give you a powerful marketing tool for your business to create brand awareness. Through daily social listening and active engagement, you can gather relevant, real-time customer data and apply that information to making smart business decisions.
Improve your writing and design skills
There’s always room for improvement. Take that course you’ve been meaning to do for the past year, experiment with Photoshop, you never know, it could be the best thing you’ve ever done. There are plenty of free courses or tutorials online if you’ve already spent your December wages over the Christmas and New Year break.
Take breaks, you will be happier, more focused and in turn, more productive. The human brain wasn’t built for the extended focus we ask of it these days. Breaks help us re-evaluate our goals and allow us to take a step back so we can ensure we are completing our tasks in the correct way. Have a 10 minute “time-out” or a 15 minute stroll to increase blood flow to the brain, which can boost creative thought. You’ll no longer be stuck for what to write for that next assignment.
Ask for help when needed
Never be afraid to ask colleagues for help or assistance with a project. A fresh eye and bouncing ideas off one another can sometimes be the key to creative flow.
There’s so much information out there and its ever-changing. Stay in the know. You can find inspiration at every corner and it will help your ideas stay fresh and current.
