BEHIND THE SCENES
With June already in full swing here at the HQ of CyberaDigital we wanted to take a moment out to introduce one of our members, Michael, Creative Project Director. With lots of exciting projects and events taking place throughout this year already Michael is one of the vital components that has helped shaped the business into what it is today.
With extensive knowledge in the industry Michael is just one of a few Brits that inhabit the Cybera Office today. Moving from London after working with a diverse range of online retailers and digital agencies, he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that we at Cybera and our clients can’t get enough of.
TELL US A LITTLE MORE ABOUT THE PROCESSES YOU’VE GONE THROUGH TO SHAPE CYBERADIGITAL AND WHAT DIFFERENTIATES IT FROM OTHER AGENCIES?
I think most importantly, I’ve had a hand in building a reliable and driven team in order to ensure that we have the right people in-house to service our clients as best we can. CyberaDigital has grown quite considerably in a short space of time but I’ve always strived to maintain our ethos of building long lasting successful relationships with our clients. As corny as it sounds, it’s a great feeling when you can play a part in helping a small business achieve that next level of success.
TELL US SOME OF YOUR FAVOURITE CAMPAIGNS THAT YOU’VE WORKED ON. WHAT WAS THE STRATEGY BEHIND THESE?
I’ve been fortunate enough to work with some really inspiring people, I guess the campaign that stands out the most was creating an online presence for a 200 year old London based retailer that had never had a website, let alone sold products online and were looking at taking their first steps into the digital space. I had to be very careful not to alienate their existing, traditional customer base and steer them towards changing their mindset when it came to online shopping. It proved successful and I played a significant part in building a new website, putting together online marketing and social campaigns and also substantially increasing revenue within a 12 month period.
WHAT ARE YOU PASSIONATE ABOUT OTHER THAN YOUR WORK?
Quite a few things actually, food and drink rank quite highly but I’m passionate about my family and ensuring that they’re happy, I have a three year old son who keeps me on my toes, so spending quality time with him is a huge priority. I’m into my football (I believe its called Soccer out here!) and have been an Arsenal supporter since 1986, so I get quite worked up and intense when following them. Travel and good photography inspire me on a daily basis too.
WHY IS DESIGN IMPORTANT TO YOU? AND HOW DO YOU HELP CUSTOMERS REALISE RISK, DESIGN AND INNOVATION IS VITAL IN GROWING THEIR BUSINESS?
The consistency of branding and design are a must when we begin any project. Its important because for a new business, it’s the identity a company puts out there so that potential customers can become familiar with said business. Branding and design is that first point of interaction for a lot of online users and without a memorable and user friendly design, that customer base won’t differentiate your business from your competitors.
WHAT’S NEXT ON THE CARDS FOR 2017?
2016 was a significant year for us in that the digital side of our business took a huge leap forward and we were lucky enough to work on some interesting projects. More of the same is planned for 2017 but on a larger scale. We have some exciting things happening internally in terms of new features and functionality to be added to our suite of services!
WHAT ATTRACTED YOU TO WORKING WITH CYBERA?
I needed a job…well that and the the opportunity to really have some serious input into how a start-up or small business could evolve and grow. To be partly responsible for that growth and to have a sense of freedom about how you approach each new project was something I hadn’t been exposed to too much back in the UK, it’s a more restrictive environment over there!
